ST.PETERSBURG FOR STUDENTS May 10-16, 2012

Upon arrival in St.Petersburg. you will meet your guide and will be transferred to your hotel for check in. Then you will walk to a local restaurant for dinner.

May 11, 2012

You will start this day with a guided city tour during which you will visit St.Isaac’s Cathedral, famous for its stunning interior decoration. After an independent lunch in a local cafй you will tour Kunstkamera, the first public museum of Russia, founded by Peter the Great. The tour will be followed by an hour-long river and canal cruise on a private boat (available May-September). Optional evening ballet performance or folk show.

In the morning you will go to the Hermitage Museum, one of the world largest art museums. After an independent lunch you will visit Dostoevsky Apartment Museum.

May 13, 2012

This morning you will have the tour of Yusupoff Palace, one of the best private palaces of Europe, where you will see the elegant interiors and the rooms, where Grigory Rasputin was murdered. After an independent lunch you will visit Peter and Paul Fortress, the birthplace of the city, where you will see St. Peter and Paul’s Cathedral, the burial place of Russian Emperors, and the prison, the Alcatraz of the Russian Empire.

May 14, 2012

This day will commence with a tour the Russian Museum, possessing the world’s largest collection of Russian fine and applied arts. Then you will walk to the Church on Spilled Blood to see its unique interior with over 70,000 sq. foot of mosaics. After an independent lunch you will visit the Necropolis of Alexander Nevsky Lavra, where the prominent Russian composers, writers and artists are buried. Optional evening circus.

May 15, 2012

In the morning you will depart for Tsarskoe Selo (the town of Pushkin) to visit Catherine’s Palace, the summer residence of the Russian Emperors, with its breathtaking Gold Suite of Rooms and the Amber Room. Then we will transfer you to Peterhof, another summer residence of the Russian Royal family. You will take a guided walk through the Lower Garden with its more than 150 fountains. (Fountains in Peterhof operate May-September; in October-April you will have a tour to Pavlovsk). In the evening you will have your farewell dinner in a local restaurant.

May 16, 2012

This day you say good-bye to St.Petersburg and will be transferred to the airport.

Price per person in a group of 18 is:

in a triple room for students with IDs – from 727 USD; adult supplement – from 109 USD

The price includes accommodation in B&B in the centre of St.Petersburg, museum entrances, guide and transportation services according to the itinerary and two dinners.
