The official opening of the world famous fountains in Peterhof Museum Park will take place on Saturday, May 18 in 2013.
The history of the world famous park with 150 fountains goes back to the times of Peter the Great, who drew the first plan of this residence, which was meant to beat Versailles. The fountains started to work in 1721, while Peter was still alive. They have been working ever since, except the tragic time of World War II, when Peterhof was occupied by the Nazi troops.
