AGATE ROOMS RE-OPENED FOR VISITORS AFTER RESTORATION
28.04.2014
This beautiful complex is a part of Catherine’s Palace Summer Residence in Tsarskoe Selo (the town of Pushkin). It was commissioned by Catherine the Great in the 1780’s.
The rooms are richly decorated with jasper (which old trade name was agate) and marble. Catherine the Great spent her early morning hours there looking through state papers and mail.
We are happy to announce that once again you have an opportunity to visit these unique rooms. Such visit may be planned as part of your excursion to Catherine’s Palace.
